The Matterhorn Story
After ten years, the acclaimed production about the first ascent of the Matterhorn is making a comeback at Riffelberg. A fresh highlight this time around is the new musical concept, developed by the Zermatt-based band “Winterhome”.
This cultural event offers visitors the chance to experience history and top-tier theatre in a breathtaking alpine setting. The story is performed in German and English, ensuring international guests can fully immerse themselves in the experience.

- Show dates: 28 June – 23 August 2025 (Thursday to Sunday)
- Venue: Open-air stage at Riffelberg (capacity: 440 seats)
- Ticket price: CHF 85
Travel to Riffelberg
A return train ticket from Zermatt to Riffelberg is required at a special price of CHF 45. Alternatively, guests can book a day pass for the Gornergrat Railway (Zermatt to the summit) for CHF 70.
