Testa Grigia.
After years of pioneering work, the year-round, continuous connection between Zermatt and Testa Grigia is finally a reality.
The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing opens a new horizon for cable car journeys. It’s the highest cable car crossing in the Alps between two distinctive countries. In the unique mountain scenery surrounding the Matterhorn, the highlights of the journey become evident at every point. Set against the impressive Alpine panorama, the new route combines adrenaline, luxury, and top-class comfort. A floating excursion over the breathtaking mountains of Italy and Switzerland, with a unique view of the majestic Matterhorn.
From the station Trockener Steg, winter enthusiasts can reach the Glacier Paradise mountain station in just nine minutes. From there, the Glacier Ride II, opened in the summer of 2023, takes them to the Testa Grigia base station in Italy. Thanks to the continuous, wheelchair-accessible connection, it’s now possible to travel from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise to the Snow Xperience Plateau Rosa without snow sports equipment. Journey time? Only 4 minutes.
